Through the arch

Loose and gathered, every color of the garden at once

Their story

It began in Annapolis, on a September night neither of them had planned around the other.

17 September 2023 · O'Brien's, Annapolis

She was a Firstie at the Naval Academy, weeks from commissioning. He had flown in from Texas for a friend's wedding, the kind of trip that is supposed to be a weekend and nothing more. They met at O'Brien's and the weekend turned out to be the beginning of everything.

Four years later he asked her at Kualoa, on the windward side of O'ahu, the morning after the Marine Corps Ball: green cliffs, the Pacific, and no audience at all.

They are being married where the two halves of it meet: on the water in Maryland, with Texas flying in.

Travel & stay

The venue

Celebrations at the Bay

2042 Knollview Drive, Pasadena, Maryland. Ceremony outside on the water; reception indoors in the Chesapeake Ballroom.

Flying

BWI is the airport

Baltimore/Washington International is the closest and the easiest, roughly half an hour from the venue. Most guests are coming from Texas.

On the ground

Rent a car

Strongly recommended. Pasadena sits out on the peninsula, and rideshare coverage thins considerably in the evening.

The room block

Residence Inn by Marriott, BWI Airport

There is one hotel block, and this is it. Booking inside the block is what keeps the wedding-day shuttle running. The shuttle's minimum is counted per hotel, so rooms booked elsewhere do not count toward it.

Booking details and the block link will go out with the invitations.

Questions

What should we wear?
Garden formal, and take the pastels seriously; the whole color family is fair game. One practical note: the ceremony is on a wooden deck over the water. Block heels, wedges or flats will serve far better than stilettos.
Are children welcome?
Yes. Kids are welcome for the whole day.
What happens if it rains?
The reception is indoors regardless. If the weather turns, the ceremony moves inside as well. Nothing about the day is weather-dependent except the view.
Is there parking?
Yes, on site and free. If you are staying in the room block, the shuttle is the easier choice.
When do we RSVP?
Not yet. RSVPs open when the formal invitations go out; this page is the save-the-date. Nothing is needed from you now beyond the twenty-ninth of May, 2027, going in your calendar.
